Area Rugs

As I mentioned in my prior post I'm looking for a new area rug. A rug for the foyer that will take what have become my "colors" all the way from the front door through to the kitchen.

I had mentioned that Home Decorators collection had sent me an offer for free shipping. A nice offer but I really didn't see anything in their enormous collection of rugs that tickled my fancy. Again, here is the beauty of online shopping - you never know what you'll find and you have hundreds of choices to browse through. While browsing I came along a site called Rugs-Direct.

It took me about three minutes worth of browsing on this site to find what may be the perfect rug. It's a lovely wool rug. It has an antique and old world look to it. I didn't want anything that was bold or floral. It has all my colors in it, a bit of gold, and red, and green and a nice light beige background that will also help to lighten up our foyer. It will go great with the sofa and chair in the living room. I'm very excited about this find.

I've always though that it's the little things that make a house a home. Anyone can choose furniture, modern or arts & crafts or early american or modern. Furniture alone is nondescript. It's the pictures on the wall, the decorative accessories placed throughout that make the true statement about who you are and that make a house a home.
