Hand Held Shower or Shower Head with Hose Attachment?

My next online purchase will probably be a shower head with a hose attachment, or a handheld shower. I'm tired of getting soaking wet when I clean the bathtub/showers in the house. I also use a color shampoo occasionally (should I admit to that?) and I want to be able to thoroughly rise the walls and the shower curtain down after each time I take a shower.

There are so many diffrent kinds of combinations of shower heads with hoses and hand held shower heads to choose from. Different finishes, brass, aluminum, different handles, brass or rubber hoses, and special massaging shower heads. They even have shower heads with water filters attached to them that filter the water before it hits you.

I also need to be very careful when I make the final choice. In our downstairs bathroom (the one that's mine) we have a shower stall. The shower head was mounted very high up on the wall. I need to make sure that the shower arm bracket will not have too much of a projection as I don't want the shower head to be higher than the shower curtain, things could get real wet!!
